Dr. Kristina McAteer

MD, Founder, Owner,
and Medical Director

Dr. Kristina McAteer is a board-certified emergency medicine physician and fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. She is also the founder, owner, and medical director of Oceanside Medical and an associate professor at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Dr. McAteer brings over two decades of experience in high-acuity medicine to her innovative, patient-centered practice.

Originally from upstate New York, Dr. McAteer moved to Rhode Island in 1994 to attend Brown University, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology. She went on to work in public health before pursuing her medical degree at the University of Vermont College of Medicine, graduating in 2005. She completed her residency in Emergency Medicine at Rhode Island Hospital and has been caring for patients in Rhode Island ever since.

Throughout her career in emergency medicine and medical education, Dr. McAteer developed a strong appreciation for the role of prevention and lifestyle in long-term health. She witnessed firsthand how chronic disease, injury, and illness are often connected to lifestyle choices, and how patients’ well-being, confidence, and performance can improve with the right care and guidance. Motivated by this insight, Dr. McAteer established Oceanside Medical, a primary care and lifestyle medicine practice designed to help patients look good, feel good, and perform well.

The practice integrates traditional medicine with wellness, aesthetics, and performance strategies to support complete physical and mental health. Whether delivering routine care, guiding weight loss, restoring hormonal balance, or providing aesthetic treatments, Dr. McAteer is dedicated to helping each patient become the best version of themselves through compassionate and personalized care.
